Tiger Woods to play Memorial ahead of US Open

Tiger Woods to play Memorial ahead of US Open

The Memorial begins on May 31.

Memorial organisers also said Woods will be paired with former National Football League quarterback and two-times Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning during the official pro-am on the eve of the first round.

This is not surprising, as Woods is healthy and intends on playing a lot this year, but still, it's exciting to see Tiger back on the course consistently.

Woods has not played in the tournament since 2015 when he finished last after shooting an 85 in the third round. New world number one Justin Thomas joins Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson and Jason Day among those already committed to feature in an event that holds a special place on the PGA Tour as it is hosted by Hall of Famer Jack Nicklaus.

A statement said Woods, a five-time victor at Memorial, had added the May 31-June 3 tournament to his schedule along with newly-minted world No. 1 Justin Thomas.

Planned Parenthood of the Gulf Coast estimates that 94 percent of abortions in Louisiana take place before 15 weeks. In addition to the time restriction, Milkovich's bill also lays out penalties for physicians conducting abortions.

Woods won the tournament in 2012, 2009, 2001, 2000 and 1999.

The 14-times major champion has earned four top-12 finishes, including a share of 11th at last week's Players Championship, in the eight events he has played since returning to the PGA Tour this year after spinal fusion surgery in April 2017.

At the Players, Woods opened with scores of 72-71 to barely make the cut, then shot 65-69 on the weekend, briefly pulling within 4 shots of eventual victor Webb Simpson on the back nine before dropping back.

"I'm not that far off from winning golf tournaments", Woods said after Sunday's final round of The Players.
