RED SOX 6, A'S 4: Boston salvages win over A's

J.D. Martinez did it again.

Boston left-hander David Price (3-4, 4.89 ERA) will pitch tonight opposite the Baltimore Orioles.

Another day, another home run for Martinez. The four walks were the first time he's done that as a member of the Red Sox.

Make no mistake about it, Chris Sale is off to a very good start this year.

Martinez's two-run shot was a blast to center field in the first inning.

Wednesday was Sale's 10th start of the season and he's only gone at least seven innings three times. Betts backed himself up against the wall and lifted his glove, but his right foot appeared to take an awkward bend at the wall and Betts crumbled to the ground, the ball sailing just over his glove.

Unlike Apple, Amazon has not been quiet in its search for a new headquarters. Apple didn't immediately return a request for comment. Both companies plan to select their sites this year.

Chris Sale couldn't quite harness his crackling fastball on this night, limited to five innings as his pitch count swelled to 102.

The shortstop had been struggling in May - his OPS was.606 coming into the game - but Bogaerts hit a three-run homer that was reminiscent of his hot start. He's hitting.306 to go with his five homers.

Tasked with the bottom third of the Oakland lineup in the seventh, Heath Hembree served up a home run to pinch hitter Matt Joyce.

By now, we all know the story behind Drew Bledsoe and the "Scary Terry" shirts, but now we have Sale (and apparently other Red Sox players) with their own unique way of showing support.

Matt Barnes turned in a scoreless top of the sixth against the heart of the Oakland order, and the Red Sox doubled their offensive output in the bottom of the inning.

As it stands, the hierarchy in the Red Sox bullpen is pretty clear: Craig Kimbrel, Joe Kelly, Barnes and then everybody else.
