Mother of 10 kids who allegedly suffered "torture" charged with child abuse

Deputy District Attorney Veronica Juarez wrote that Rogers assisted in the abuse of the children by her husband, Jonathan Allen. She said her daughter failed to get on the school bus on her first day of kindergarten and was later found talking to a stranger and his dog at the school, she said. "I am an wonderful mother".

Upon entering Rogers's residence, they discovered that nine of her other children, ranging in age from 4 months to 11 years, were living in "unsafe and unsanitary" squalor.

The children's father, 29-year-old Jonathan Allen, pleaded not guilty to charges of torture and child cruelty and is being held on $5.2 million bail.

Larry Magney, who lives across the street on Fieldstone Court, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the couple moved in about a year ago. He was sentenced to 180 days and three years of probation. She was taken into custody with bail set at $495,000.

The boy was eventually found sleeping under a bush in a neighbor's yard, police said.

Rogers said she feels the family is being judged for having so many children and choosing to home-school them. A bathroom was covered from wall-to-wall in animal droppings. The only reason the house was messy when police arrived, she said, was because she'd torn it apart looking for her 12-year-old son. When she was later asked why all 10 children slept in a single room while the other bedrooms were used as the parents' quarters, a "meditation room" and a playroom, Rogers replied that the children liked it that way.

Following a Fairfield police investigation that began at the end of March, Ina Rogers, 30, was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of child endangerment. He claimed he had never spanked any of the children and repeatedly said he has lived "a spiritual life".

The AAP alleged that the police order proved that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misusing police to target his opponents. Kejriwal's former adviser VK Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present there.

Sheriff's and prosecutors say the children were rescued from a filthy house in March and had suffered puncture wounds, burns, bruising and injuries consistent with being shot with a pellet gun.

The details of alleged abuse were included in a motion to increase the bail of Ina Rogers, 31, who was charged with nine counts of felony child abuse Wednesday in Solano Superior Court. "The police demonized me all the way down to the names I picked for my children", he said.

On Monday, Rogers, who was out after posting $10,000 bail according to the Associated Press, gave reporters a tour of her four-bedroom house.

"I am horrified by the statements that were given by these children", she said.

"There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing", Rogers said. "Rogers" family, including her brother and sister, sat in shock during the hearing. Officials took pictures of the children and interviewed them individually, she said.

Police investigating a missing child report found their ten children living in a house filled with garbage, rotten food, and human and animal waste.

Allen's mother, Peggy Allen, told the AP she had spoken to her son about the importance of housekeeping and Christian values - but that Allen avoided her and kept his relatives away from the children.
