Leaked Instagram feature shows how much time you waste

By showing users how much time they spend on Instagram, the social networking service might risk prompting people to spend less time on the app.

Earlier this week, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong discovered code buried in Instagram's Android app that revealed a never-before-seen "Usage Insights" feature. With the app usage feature, people can consider putting their phones down and adopt more healthy behaviors. It hasn't been enabled as yet so it's unclear when this feature will be rolled out for all users.

IBM to Launch World's First Corporate-issued Token; Chooses Stellar's Blockchain Platform
Stellar Lumens is an open-source blockchain network created by Jed McCaleb, who also created Mt Gox and co-created Ripple. Klee was quick to note out that the carbon enterprise token would make use of IBM's permissioned blockchain as well.

Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom has now confirmed on Twitter that the company is indeed working on this Usage Insights feature, adding that the company is building tools that will "help the IG community know more about the time they spend on Instagram". He also says tech companies need to be honest with users about the time they're spending online. "It's not exactly clear whether that will be your total time spent in Instagram ever, which could be a pretty scary number to some users, or within some shorter time frame like a day, week, or month".

Last week at Google I/O, the company unveiled a Digital Wellbeing platform for Android P. This will make it easier for Android device owners to limit their smartphone usage, by setting restrictions.
