Jose Mourinho Contacts Leonardo Bonucci over Summer Move to Man Utd

Leonardo Bonucci is reportedly a summer transfer target for Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who has already made contact with the AC Milan defender.

The Portuguese coach is being tipped to revamp his defence as Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have struggled with injuries while Victor Lindelof has failed to establish himself since arriving from Benfica 12 months ago.

That's because the Metro are citing a report from Tuttosport that claims Mourinho has made contact with Bonucci to discuss a possible move to Old Trafford this summer.

Bonucci attracted interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid past year, but due to the poor health of his son, he remained in Italy and swapped Juventus for the San Siro.

According to the same report, Milan do not intend to listen to any bids below £35m, although an initial loan offer with an obligation to buy could be an option.

Having spent around £200million last summer, finishing in the top four became the absolute minimum requirement, but Milan will only be playing Europa League football next season.

He was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester City last summer, but ultimately chose to remain in his home country, moving to big spending AC Milan.

But the Italian defender snubbed a switch to England and joined AC Milan in a surprise deal.
