Cavs Player Called Danny Ainge 'A [Expletive] Thief' This Season

In the midst of the Eastern Conference Finals, a reported quote from a Cavaliers player sums up the lingering thought about the Kyrie Irving trade to the Celtics last summer. While the TD Garden crowd roared in anticipation of Game 2, there was nothing really for team officials to celebrate. We know that LeBron James wasn't a fan of the deal, and apparently, an unnamed Cavs player was frustrated earlier this season with how Celtics GM Danny Ainge stole Irving from under their nose.

With a bad hip and a worse attitude in Cleveland, those aforementioned stats only confirmed that the 5-foot-9 Thomas never rediscovered the play that made him a legitimate MVP candidate last season before he was ultimately traded to the Lakers. Opponents have managed to outscore the Cavs by 82 points while Hood was on the floor despite him playing just 200 minutes.

The Cavaliers essentially traded Irving and their own first round pick for Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance, Ante Zizic and the No. 8 pick.

And before tipoff that night, the National Basketball Association lottery determined that the top draft pick Boston conveyed to Cleveland as part of the trade (originally belonging to Brooklyn) will be a disappointing eighth. Boston leads the series, 2-0.

To be honest, maybe "effing thief" is selling it short.
