The Sox have matched the poorest 38-game start in team history.

For Wednesday's game, the Sox will be bringing out LHP Hector Santiago. Catcher Francisco Cervelli left the game at the end of the third inning with right forearm discomfort.

Kyle Crick and Richard Rodriguez completed the seven-hitter for Pittsburgh's major league league-best seventh shutout.

Pirates 7, White Sox 0.

The Pirates will go for a sweep of this two-game set and all four games between the interleague clubs Wednesday. The Pirates had 10 hits Tuesday.

"One through nine, we're all doing damage", said Pittsburgh's Josh Bell, who drove in three runs with two doubles.

Pirates: CF Starling Marte left the game at the end of the first inning with discomfort in his right side. There was no update on their status.

"I pulled a lot of fastballs, which is weird for me because usually if I miss then I'm missing up and away or up and in to a lefty", Santiago said. "I thought it was just two pitches that left the yard. Probably felt too good".
