The reason for the move is because the Premier League voted to bring forward the transfer deadline to August 9 this year.

The Premier League will begin allowing domestic transfers tomorrow, a month earlier than usual, to abide by a Federation Internationale de Football Association ruling which states that governing bodies must allow at one window each year to run for at least 12 weeks.

That means domestic transfers can be completed from midnight on May 17, but transfers from overseas can only be finalised once the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) opens at midnight on June 8'.

That's because other leagues have different windows and will still be open.
