Shenmue III delayed to 2019, act surprised

"Deep Silver today announced that their upcoming release Shenmue III has been moved and will now release in 2019".

European publisher Deep Silver, a subsidiary of THQ Nordic, revealed the delay on its website. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III.We can not thank you enough for your enduring support. That's where Deep Silver has stepped in to publish and provide support. It's been a long, long time since Shenmue 2 was released for the Sega Dreamcast, of all things, which means the wait for Shenmue 3 is quickly closing in on a whopping 17 years.

The $6 million is likely a drop in the bucket when you consider the cost of modern AAA games.

Officer hailed for confronting gunman at high school

There are many constants in the world of videogames and one such constant is that Shenmue 3 will only ever be as real as its delays.

The decision to delay Shenmue III will hopefully result in the game better utilizing the power of the PlayStation 4 and PC. Since then, details regarding the RPG have been scarce, with it being pushed from its planned December 2017 release date to the second half of 2018. They were then reworked later that year, but still displayed a stiffness we don't expect to see from something on current-generation systems.

This is a bit of a setback considering that the game has been in and out of development over the last decade.
