Motorola Moto G6, Moto G6 Play to launch in India soon

The Motorola G6 smartphones might be coming to India soon according the teaser on Motorola India's Twitter account. It's uncertain whether or not the Moto G6 Plus will be launching in the country, but the G6 Play and G6 seem to be on their way.

Lenovo-owned Motorola is gearing up to launch its Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones soon in India. In terms of build and design, both the new Moto phones bring signature Moto design with glass construction taking limelight yet again.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with an octa-core chipset and comes in RAM and storage variants of 3GB/4GB and 32GB/64GB.

To recall, the Moto G6 series consists of three devices - the bigger Moto G6 Plus with premium specs, the standard Moto G6 and the entry-level Moto G6 Play. We expect Motorola to launch both the models of the phone in India as well.

Moto G6 Play also sports a 5.7-inch display but has a lower screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels with 18:9 aspect ratio. Both smartphone will support expandable storage of up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Internationally, the device is available in 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants, and we might get to see the same models getting launched in India for different prices.

The phone also comes with a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup and is accompanied by features like phase-detection autofocus, dual-tone dual-LED flash, with up to 60FPS support for Full HD video recording. At the front, there's a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. It measures 8.3mm thick and weighs 167 grams. The smartphone packs 3000mAh battery with fast charging support. It is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform. One should feature 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage, while the second one will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. In the camera department, it sports a 13MP single rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter. The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The Moto G6 is backed by a 3,000mAh, while the Moto G6 Play is more powerful and comes with a massive 4,000mAh battery.
