Chelsea are understood to be monitoring the situation as they search for a replacement for Antonio Conte, but Purslow believes that the rumours are more likely to be a bargaining ploy over a new contract by Pochettino's representatives.

Spurs have qualified for the Champions League in each of the past three seasons despite operating with a significantly smaller budget than many of their direct Premier League rivals, but they have not won any silverware since lifting the League Cup in 2008.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, former Barcelona manager Luis Suarez, and Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri are among the pretenders to replace Chelsea head coach.

Asked on Sunday about the comments made by Pochettino that Spurs need to "be courageous and take risks" in fortifying their squad this summer, Rose said that he hoped Daniel Levy, the chairman, would work with his manager to ensure the club were stronger after their third-place finish.

Pochettino will hold talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in the coming days over the club's future investment plans.

"I think Pochettino is well down the track of becoming a Tottenham legend and moving across London to a club which is competing very closely, that isn't a logical move".

Spurs have finished in the top four in the Premier League for a third straight season under Pochettino which is a great achievement but there is a sense of negativity at the north London club right now and that is for the lack of return for the good work Poch has done.

"If we want to play and be real contenders for big, big trophies, yes, we need to review a little".

"I feel a lot of Tottenham fans would think it was".

"I want to say thank-you for their unbelievable support this season", Son told his club's official website.

"It is a season where I have had to be patient and be mentally positive", he said.
