Istanbul: OIC extraordinary summit on Palestine, on Friday

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Wednesday spoke with the leaders of a number of countries, including Germany, Iran, Indonesia, Qatar and Sudan and urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries to develop a "common stance" on the Gaza killings.

The meeting will take place on May 18, government spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag announced.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim earlier said Turkey is calling on Muslim countries to reconsider relations with Israel.

Erdogan's call came against a backdrop of increasing instability on the Israel-Gaza border, as a result of raw violence from the Israeli side against Palestinian protesters; victims of Israeli gunfire are over 60 in the past 2 days.

"The Islamic world should move as one, with one voice, against this massacre", he added.

Prime Minister Shahid Khan Abbasi condemned the Israeli forces action in the harshest terms and reiterated Islamabad's solidarity and firm support for the peaceful struggle of the people of Palestine for their homeland.

On Monday, May 14, the OIC- 45th Council of Foreign Ministers issued a statement at the initiative of Chairs of the Islamic Summit, Turkey, and the Council of Foreign Ministers, Bangladesh On the Deplorable Action of the U.S. To Open its Embassy in Jerusalem.

Pakistan and Turkey, at the time of American embassy's inauguration in Jerusalem, have agreed to raise the matter of Palestinians' killings due to Israeli aggression at the United Nations and all worldwide forums.

Erdoğan said the global community should speak out for Palestinians' suffering and called for a firm and common stance by the OIC. Its objective is to safeguard the interests of the Muslim world by promoting peace and worldwide harmony among different peoples of the world.
