Golden Knights bounce back to tie series with Jets

It just wasn't their Knight.

Jonathan Marchessault scored twice for the Vegas Golden Knights as they won 3-1 in Game 2 on Monday night to tie up their Western Conference finals series with the Winnipeg Jets.

"I said to myself before the game I wanted to work hard on the forecheck, get as many pucks as I can on the forecheck from the guys and we scored from it, so it's all good", Tatar told reporters after Vegas' 3-1 win.

"It's upsetting. It wasn't their night", said fan John Capstick, who initially didn't even want to talk about the loss.

Vegas has been below average on offense in the playoffs so far as they come in ranked 10th in scoring at 2.83 gpg, while also ranking 9th in shots taken (31.8 spg) and 10th in power play conversions, converting on 18.2% of their chances.

Daryl Capstick was more willing to chat about the game and was keeping the faith about the Jets' fortunes. Kyle Connor had the puck on the left flank on that play.

Just four minutes later, the Vegas top unit combined for the second goal. "That's our game. We're a fast team". They could have scored four goals in three minutes.

Then their engines sputtered while Vegas cranked it up.

Marchessault brought back the two-goal advantage 1:28 later. The puck went off the post and crossed behind Jets' goalie Connor Hellebuyck before sailing past the other post and clear of the net.

The expansion Vegas squad quelled doubters in the first round with a sweep of Los Angeles.

"I was not impressed with Vegas' play at all". I think that feeds into our game, too.

U.S. imposes sanctions against governor of Iran's Central Bank
Typically, when the USA punishes individuals with sanctions, it prohibits Americans or US companies from doing business with them. The Treasury said Seif covertly moved "hundreds of millions of dollars" to Hezbollah from IRGC via Al-Bilad Islamic Bank.

"That third goal, it was a bad play by [Josh] Morrissey, yeah. We just gotta stay with it better". Reilly Smith had a pair of assists.

No big deal, said Roy.

The Jets finally got re-fueled enough to get on the scoreboard by cutting the Vegas lead in half at the 7:17 mark of the third.

Are people getting exhausted of the whiteout street party?

But. the Marchessault show was not over just yet.

That follows a crowd of 15,000 at Saturday's party, when the organizers were expecting the biggest yet. "We like where it was in the Nashville series".

Instead of increasing, the attendance has dropped ever since. The Jets have gone 24-23 on the road for the year overall and they have averaged 2.98 gpg and have allowed 2.77 gpg in those games.

- The Jets lead the National Hockey League in the playoffs with 18 third-period goals in the playoffs.

Did the Vegas Golden Knights show they are for real and deserve to be in the third round of the playoffs with this win? During that series, they had 39 hits in Game 1 and 38 in Game 2.

"That was a playoff type game".
