The new features added in Facebook Stories include Save Photos and Videos for later, Voice Posts to express yourself how you want, and Stories Archive to re-live your memories.

Facebook on Wednesday announced several new updates for its Indian consumer, following which the updates will be part of Facebook's global platform, it was announced.

All of the photos and videos that are saved to Facebook Camera will only be visible to the user after they login to Facebook.

Another interesting feature coming to Facebook's platform is voice posts.

Facebook users in India will now be able to save the photos and videos that they capture through Facebook's camera. They will be given the option to save the photos and videos directly to their Facebook account.

Given that data breach has been in the news, and Facebook has been in the midst of the Cambridge Analytica row, Hayes also said that the features can only be seen by the profile owner and there will be no data breach when it comes to leaking information. Users will get an option whether they want to archive Stories.

Facebook will also allow voice posts, letting people "share in the moment" without having to share a photo or video.

"Another really important thing that we've learnt from WhatsApp is that voice messaging is an increasingly popular way for people to communicate when they don't want to type out messages", said Hayes. Users can also just take a photo through in-app camera, save it, and post at a time of their convenience. This will help users with entry-level devices that have limited storage to keep space free on their devices.

Facebook did not provide statistics around the popularity of voice messaging in India.

Facebook is rolling out a series of India-first features to its stories format on its platform in the coming weeks. After a photo disappears from your story, you can find it in your story archive - a place only you can see.

Facebook today announced that it's adding three new features to its main app which will help users "create and save memories" more effectively. "You can always choose to not save them", Hayes added.

Stories archive Similar to Instagram's archive, Facebook now allows users to save their Stories even after 24 hours. Voice posts can be shared in the same way that Stories and News Feed posts are shared, Facebook said. These features will initially be available in India but is expected to be eventually available to users across the world.
