Delhi cops to quiz CM Kejriwal in assault case

The Delhi Police will question Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on May 18 in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February, reported PTI. "Kindly intimate", Delhi police notice accessed by New Indian Express said.

The AAP alleged that the police order proved that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misusing police to target his opponents. There is also a possibility that the police may also ask Kejriwal's deputy Manish Sisodia to join the investigation after the chief minister.

A senior police officer said a notice under Section 160 of the CrPC was sent to the CM on Wednesday, asking him to "attend the investigation, being acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case". In the event, such timing is not convenient to you due to official engagements. "First time in the history of India, the police are questioning the Chief Minister of a state in a fake case", AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said.

Eleven MLAs have already been questioned in connection with the alleged assault of Prash during a meeting on February 19 at Kejriwal's residence.

Theresa May confirmed the risky materials would be removed during Prime Minister's Questions earlier today. She also gave an update on the accommodation of the West London block's former residents.

Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said the notice after three months was "late, but a clear step in the right direction" and that he hoped the Chief Minister would cooperate with the police.

11 MLAs present at CM's residence at the time of the incident were questioned along with Kejriwal's private secretary Bibhav Kumar.

"Now, the Delhi Chief Secretary is being used by Modiji to file a false case against Mr. Kejriwal to delay good governance". Kejriwal's former adviser VK Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were also present there.
