Cavaliers start hot, Celtics close out strong in Game 2: 3 takeaways

Boston had six players with double-figure scoring as the topped the Cavs, despite a triple-double from LeBron James.

For a moment in Game 2 of the Celtics' Eastern Conference Finals matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, it appeared as if the moment had finally grown to large for Rozier. With four minutes left in the first quarter, the Cavs star tried to back down Al Horford, but the backbone of the Celtics defense held his ground and forced James into a fadeaway from an impossible angle. Boston was on top 84-77 entering the fourth quarter. The Celtics are 37-0 in a best-of-seven series when they have started 2-0.

Morris and Tatum combined for 23 points and Rozier finished with 18 points (7-16 FG), seven boards and three assists. JR Smith is also 32.

Boston had no such problem with scoring distribution - with all five starters plus Marcus Smart scoring in double-figures. But Smith's foul on Horford ignited the soft-spoken center, who would score the game's next eight points to put things essentially out of reach. It shouldn't be surprising to see the Celtics as the tougher team through two games. But I don't think it-it didn't affect my game after that. Kevin Love added 22 points and 15 rebounds, and Kyle Korver contributed 11 points, all in the second quarter.

That was it. That's when the Cavaliers transformed from a team closing in on another shot to steal a game the way they did against Toronto and in to a team that could sense a second straight loss.

He'll have three days to rest up before the Celtics and Cavaliers clash Saturday in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals at Quicken Loans Arena.

"We got to be tougher mentally and physically", Lue said.

Jeff Green committed five turnovers in his 28 minutes on the floor for Cleveland, finishing at minus-17 for the game. It's exciting, I love the challenge, but like I said, man, it's a team effort.

3.5 quake shakes Oakland
Despite a depth of about 5.5 miles below the surface, many still felt the quake as far away as Walnut Creek and San Jose. Geological Survey has recorded its sixth natural disaster near the Logan County town of Crescent since Sunday.

With 3:34 left in the second, James headed off to the locker room after taking a shot to the head from Tatum on a drive to the basket. He turned the ball over the Cavs' first possession.

Cleveland will look to avoid a two-game deficit as the series heads to Cleveland later this week.

This all happened after Smart did this halfway through the quarter.

"The last couple of playoffs, and our meeting at the end of year, they blew us out of the water", Boston guard Marcus Smart said.

Things got a little heated late in the game as JR Smith underhandedly pushed Al Horford in the back while he was airborne, leading to a Flagrant 1 for Smith.

Many of the Celtics, on the other hand, are still getting used to playing in the National Basketball Association.

Tuesday's game got physical as the Celtics pulled out all the stops to try and contain James.

The Cavs led, 61-52, with 10:09 remaining in the third period when the Celtics put it together.
