All-New Honda Amaze launched at Rs 5.59 lakh

The auto is offered in four trims in manual transmission for petrol and diesel versions and two trims for automatic for both power trains.

All-new Honda Amaze has been launched in India at an attractive price tag of Rs. 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). The Petrol manual and CVT variants would return a fuel efficiency of 19.5kpml and 19.0kmpl, whereas the diesel MT and CVT versions will return a mileage of 27.4kmpl and 23.8kmpl, respectively.Earlier, Honda announced at the Auto Expo 2018 that it would launch 3 models including all-new Amaze, Honda CRV and Honda Civic in the fiscal 2018-19.

The 2018 AMaze is offered in four variants - E, S, V and VX. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The new Amaze is lighter than the previous model. The diesel-CVT combo of the new Amaze produces 79bhp and 160Nm of torque. The ARAI certified fuel economy figures for the vehicle stand at 19.5km/l for petrol manual, 19km/l for petrol CVT, 27.4km/l for diesel manual and 23.8km/l for diesel CVT models.

The 2018 Honda Amaze is based on a new platform with around 65mm increased wheelbase as compared to the outgoing version and it gets a tad bit longer (5mm) and wider (15mm) as well. Safety features like Dual front SRS airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and Brake Assist, along with reverse parking sensors are standard on all the variants of the new Amaze.

The new 2UA platform will debut on the new Amaze which could be employed on the future products from Honda probably the new Honda Brio. The compact sedan also gets new angular headlamp with LED position lamps and a redesigned bumper with fog lamp housing. The new Amaze is equipped with newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels.

The rear end of the new Amaze gets a new C-shaped split tail light cluster and a chrome strip running across the boot.

The Honda Amaze 2018 is offered in five colour options: Radiant Red, White Orchid Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic. With the CVT, the engine offers only 80 bhp and 160 Nm.

The Honda Amaze 2018 comes loaded with features such as power folding and adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, LED DRLs, engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, cruise control, steering-mounted controls, day/night IRVM and shark fin antenna. The top-spec diesel Honda Amaze with all the bells and whistles will cost Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Amaze will be competing with the likes of Maruti Suzuki's Dzire, Ford's Aspire and Hyundai Motor's Xcent. Here's all that you can expect from the new-generation compact sedan. The vehicle offers features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, auto climate control and cruise control among the others.
