Adobe has released a free version of its XD design software

To pair up with this, Adobe is also announcing time-saving updates for Adobe XD which should enable designers to go from concept to prototype faster. Clearly, it's putting some significant effort into XD, with monthly feature updates.

Aside for the freebie, Adobe's updates to the XD platform include support for artificial intelligence to help start to cut down on some of the mundane work in designing interfaces, while integration with Photoshop is now more complete.

The fund will help designers and developers innovate in the world of experience design and leverage Adobe XD as a platform supporting tooling plug-ins and integrations with third-party tools and services.

But Adobe wants XD to be as extensible as Sketch, so has created the Adobe Fund for Design, a $10 million pot that it will invest in companies developing XD plugins - or developers in other tools who extend their software and services to integrate with XD.

The software is getting several new updates that will start rolling out in the next couple of months.

Japan's First Quarter GDP Growth Seen Slowing Sharply In Setback For 'Abenomics'
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP shrank 0.2 per cent, versus the median estimate for a GDP to remain unchanged. Experts have predicted Japan's economic growth will be weaker this year than in 2017.

The demo showed off at the conference revealed how efficient the UI of Adobe XD is in helping designers create in-app elements like menus, toolbars, and categories.

New Adobe XD features and capabilities are prioritised and introduced based on feedback from the design community and user requests.

New in Adobe XD this month is improved interactions between Photoshop CC and Sketch, Password protected Design specs (beta), Simple drag and drop options to swap symbols, Paste to multiple artboards and File auto-recovery.

Sketch and Photoshop CC integration improvements: First announced earlier this year, Adobe released improvements to opening Sketch and Photoshop CC files directly in Adobe XD. You can also password protect your files easily. The user inputs a password in the Share popup window, before passing the links out, to ensure the security of proprietary designs.

Adobe XD is powerful, slick UX design and prototyping tool - but hasn't dislodged Sketch as the software of choice for most UX designers we know. With the Starter Plan, everyone from students, to professional designers, to any creative person with an idea for a project will have free access to the tool that many top designers and progressive brands, like Sonos, Boosted Boards, Equinox, and Microsoft are adopting to develop their websites and mobile apps,"said Adobe's Scott Belsky".
