Delhi: Indigo Staffer Arrested For Making Hoax Bomb Call at IGI airport

A staff member of Indigo airlines was arrested for allegedly making a hoax call to Delhi's IGI airport about a bomb in a Mumbai bound flight, said reports. Sanjay Bhatia, deputy commissioner of police (IGI Airport), said Madhav told them he had made the call because he was "depressed" and "frustrated" with his employer. Upset, he chose to "teach a lesson" to the airlines, the police said. In an apparent bid to teach the airline a lesson, Bhat called up the airline office at the IGI Airport in Delhi from his mobile phone on May 2 and said there was a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight.

One of the staffers of Indigo airlines informed the security authorities that he had received a call at about 8:15 am from an unidentified man, who said there was a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight.

The police then registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
