Simeone: Costa likely to miss first leg against Arsenal

Diego Costa will miss the first leg of Atletico Madrid's Europa League semi-final against Arsenal but should be back for the return on Spanish soil, according to Diego Simeone.

The Spain global limped off with a hamstring injury against Sporting Lisbon in the quarter-finals and there were fears he could miss both legs of the tie against Arsenal.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's Premier League fixture with West Ham, Wenger confirmed that although Sunday's clash had come too soon for Mkhitaryan, Thursday's first leg fixture at the Emirates Stadium would be the earliest the playmaker would be available.

'This will ensure our travelling fans pay no more for their tickets than Atletico's supporters will pay for the first leg in London.
