Stunning Takeaways From Comey's Memos About His Conversations With Trump

Comey wrote several memos memorializing his interactions with Trump, which he says he wrote contemporaneously - right after meeting with the President.

The "golden showers" Trump referred to stemmed from a rumor that Trump had entertained prostitutes and witnessed a sexual act while in a Moscow Ritz-Carlton hotel room in 2013. Comey has appeared on a number of networks for high-profile interviews and media appearances, the place he has mentioned the ebook and slammed former Obama administration colleagues, together with former President Barack Obama.

The unredacted, classified version of the memos will be made available to Congress to view in a secure setting on Friday, DOJ said.

In their next solo meeting, at the end of a much larger briefing, president Trump discussed Mike Flynn, whom he had just fired, with Comey.

Nunes, Gowdy and Goodlatte released a statement on Thursday night saying the memos showed that Comey was inconsistent and overlooked bias inside the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

He said in an interview Thursday with CNN that he's "fine" with the Justice Department turning his memos over to Congress.

Comey writes that Trump did not say when Putin had made the comment.

Comey told the president that if McCabe "had it to do over again, I'm sure he would urge his wife not to run, but that the guy put everything aside and did his job well", according to the memo.

According to Comey, Trump said that he could not believe that CNN had not published the fake allegations already.

Zapolsky David also sold $3.24 million worth of Amazon.com, Inc. 1,985 shares were sold by Jassy Andrew R, worth $2.90 million. Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR ) stock jumped $1.19 higher during the regular trading session on Wednesday, hitting $154.72.

A report from the watchdog office released last week concluded that McCabe had misled investigators and his own boss, then-Director James Comey, about his role in an October 2016 Wall Street Journal article on an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation. They include a January 2017 dinner at which Comey says Trump asked him for his loyalty, and a conversation the following month about former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump fired Comey in May 2017 while Comey was leading the FBI investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible collusion between Trump's campaign and the Russians.

Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement that Comey's "contemporaneous memos provide strong corroborating evidence of everything he said about President Trump - that the president wanted his personal loyalty, that he wanted to end the Russian Federation investigation, and that he wanted Michael Flynn to walk".

Comey said he "paused for a few seconds and then said that I would answer here, but that this illustrated the kind of question that had been asked and answered through established channels".

Comey's memos were released to the public on Thursday, with some classified information redacted.

The subject moved on to leakers and, according to Comey's memos, the president said that "we need to go after the reporters", and said that "10 or 15 years ago we put them in jail to find out what they know and it worked".

The Justice Department sent redacted versions of the memos to Congress for their review Thursday, a day after House Republicans prepared to subpoena the department to obtain the memos.

"It really was conversation-as-jigsaw puzzle in a way, with pieces picked up, then discarded, then returned to", Comey wrote.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said in a response Monday that some lawmakers had already been given access a year ago.
