According to Pele, the 2018 World Cup is another chance for Neymar, who missed the team's 7-1 loss to Germany in 2014, to make amends.

The former Barcelona forward has confirmed that he will be ready for this summer's tournament after undergoing surgery on a fractured metatarsal in early March.

'He already has a second chance because, unfortunately, what happened in Brazil - disaster, ' Pele told Omnisport.

Brazilian star striker Neymar has hinted he is on track to recover fully after his foot operation, meaning that the player would be fit in time to feature in the World Cup. I think this is a great, great opportunity for him to recover. I think he's a good player.

Nearly two months later, all parties concerned can take a sigh of relief with the news that the 26-year-old attacker is expected to be heading back to Paris soon, with a view to reaching peak fitness ahead of his country's campaign to lift the World Cup for a record sixth time in Russian Federation this summer.
