WEATHER WARNING: Status Yellow Weather Warning in place for tomorrow

Residents can expect up to 50mm rainfall over the period, with the potential for higher amounts on hills and mountains and the possibility of localised spot flooding. Gales will be coming in from the southwest at speeds of 50 and 65km/h and gusts between 80 and 110 km/h. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.

The good weather isn't expected to last too long with cooler temperatures forecast for the weekend.

Met Éireann has announced that local flooding is to take place from tonight, Sunday, right through until Tuesday, April 17.

"The rain and strong winds will spread eastwards to most places during the afternoon turning persistent and heavy".

The rain will clear northwards before morning and breaks will develop in the cloud. Showers and sunny spells are on the cards and the heavy winds are expected to decrease later in the day.
