Trump Informs Congress of Reasons for Strike in Syria

The Western countries blame Assad for the Douma attack that killed dozens of people. The Syrian government and its ally Russian Federation have denied involvement in any such attack.

Macron added that the Russians are "accomplices" of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime because they blocked the U.N. Security Council. "We convinced him to remain".

US President Donald Trump was considering an option of a more robust attack on Syria, including targeting some of Russian and Iranian facilities, however, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis dissuaded the president, The Wall Street Journal reported citing sources familiar with the decision making process.

"We are determined to completely crush ISIS and create the conditions that will prevent its return".

"They are hard for us, but will do more damage to the United States of America and Europe", RIA quoted Serebrennikov as saying. The US, UK and France, supported by Germany, agree that Syria's chemical weapons must be destroyed once and for all; there must be an immediate ceasefire; and that the Syrian regime has to accept a "substantial agenda" at the UN Geneva talks that would lead to what the French UN ambassador, François Delattre, calls an "inclusive political solution.'". Moscow condemned the Western states for refusing to wait for the OPCW's findings before attacking.

The US-led strikes were the biggest worldwide attack on President Bashar al-Assad's regime since the start of Syria's seven-year war.

Last week , we saw some renders of all three phones and live images of the Moto G6 Play that pretty much confirm their designs. However, as is the case with most launches, there have been a bunch of leaks and revelations ahead of the April 19 event.

The U.S., France and the United Kingdom launched the airstrikes early Saturday on three chemical weapons facilities in Syria to punish the regime for alleged use of chemical weapons in the town of Douma on April 7.

Macron said, "We had arrived at a time when these strikes had become indispensable".

Germany's foreign minister hopes the USA -led air strikes in Syria will result in a fresh effort to find a peaceful solution to the seven-year conflict. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said the United States military had kept its strikes limited because it knew a wider attack would spark retaliation from Damascus and its allies and inflame the region.

Over the weekend, the UN Security Council came together for an emergency vote on Friday night's missile attack on Syria, ordered by Donald Trump (who advised Obama against such warfare back in 2013).

"That possibility always has to be taken into account, and investigators will look for evidence that shows whether the incident site has been tampered with", said Ralf Trapp, a consultant and member of a previous OPCW mission to Syria.
