Star Wars: Yoda Rumored to Appear in Episode IX

However, if the rumors of Yoda returning in Episode IX are to be believed, then it is very likely that Oz will choose to return to the role.

One of the highlights of last years Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the return of Master Yoda.

"The success of the scenes featuring Yoda in The Last Jedi were huge", said the insider.

"Yoda will again appear as a ghost as he acknowledges Rey's success and growth as a Jedi", we hear. Allegedly, the scenes are being put together later this year, but that could be said for the rest of the movie as well. Yoda, for some reason, was back to his goofy self prior to letting it be known he was the Jedi that Luke was seeking in Empire Strikes Back, and again for some reason, Yoda was able to call down Force Lightning and interact with the real world. Many saw this scene as a nod to the original trilogy and a fantastic sendoff for a great character, however, that may not be the case. Let us know in the comments below! That makes it hard to bring back old characters because there's no connection to any of the new ones.

Trevorrow ultimately parted ways with the project and J.J. Abrams returned to the fold, and he re-wrote the script for Episode IX alongside Chris Terrio.

Additionally, bringing Yoda back for Star Wars: Episode IX would be a smart idea from Lucasfilm on the financial side if they are still planning on giving Yoda his own spin-off.
