Sony expands its audio lineup with Bluetooth speakers, headphones

As the market is moving towards wireless headphones, Sony is embracing the phenomenon head-on with six new wireless headphones and three Bluetooth speakers. The new WF-SP700N features digital noise cancelling technology and has a splash-proof design. The headphone line-up consists of the WF-SP700N, WI-SP600N, WI-SP500, WI-C300, WH-CH400 and WH-CH500, all of which support NFC and Bluetooth and are a part of Sony's Extra Bass range. The headphones - WF-SP700N and WI-SP600N will become smarter with Google Assistant and will be optimized with an update. The wireless headphone has a battery life of around three hours, which offers two additional charges to the headphone.

The WH-CH500, WH-CH400, and WI-C300 have Google Assistant support built-right in.

The most interesting product is what the company calls the first wireless noise cancelling headphones. Also, these speakers are enabled with "Party Booster" feature and can be connected to up to 100 different speakers together.

The Sony WI-SP500, WI-C300 and WH-CH400 in the headphone range will be available from 17 April across Sony stores. It has an in-line remote, a claimed battery life of 6 hours and the same water resistance rating as the SP700N. While the WI-C300 are in-ear wireless headphones, the WH-CH400 and WH-CH500 are over-the-ear headphones. These earphones will be available starting May 15 in Black and Yellow colour options at Rs 12,990. The new headphone range is priced at Rs 2,990 onwards while the speaker range starts at Rs 7,990 onwards.
