Sega Ages for Switch Series Could Include Games for Saturn and Dreamcast

This new release of Sega Ages promises that several of the titles in it will be making their way west for the first time, with a Summer 2018 release date given for when we can expect the first batch of games. You might recognize AtGames as the makers of last year's Sega Genesis Flashback HD, which was panned in reviews.

Sega Ages was a series of retro compilations released on the Sega Saturn back in mid-90s.

While Sonic the Hedgehog is clearly the initial header of the SEGA Ages lineup, it is nice to see that publisher and former console manufacturer is acknowledging some lesser known Genesis titles and even re-releasing some Master System games.

It is set for release on May 15th 2018 in the United Kingdom and May 18th in North America. Julian Dennison , Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in undisclosed roles.

Me neither, but that doesn't stop me from getting excited about FIVE classic Sega Master System titles coming to the Switch very soon, with more to follow.

This could be huge news, as it would bring a number of long-lost classics to the Nintendo platform, with possibilities ranging from Fighters Megamix and Sega Rally Championship on the Saturn to Crazy Taxi 2 and Samba de Amigo from the Dreamcast line-up.

So far, Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, Thunder Force IV, Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Gain Ground for Switch have been confirmed this summer, although they have not given details of the format or the price. We certainly will, but we want to hear your take on this revived retro series. These will be released on the Switch eShop individually.
