Man impersonating a cop arrested for sexual assault

He told the victim he was taking her into custody for shoplifting, he then placed the woman into his auto and attempted to sexually assault her. He is now in custody, charged with sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, and is being held in the Harris County Jail on $40,000 bond.

Police say she threatened to continue assaulting staff at the foster home and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre. The convict faces a maximum of five years' imprisonment.

She was released on a promise to appear in court in June.

The two accused are related to each other and known to the victim, police said. According to the prosecution, the girl was taken to Shankar's house on July 10, 2013 for treatment of her backache through "jhada" (a form of witchcraft).

Michael Andrew Gray, whose address is in La Vergne, Tennessee, is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl around May 1, 2016, court records indicate. The man had denied the allegations and claimed he was falsely implicated by the victim's mother as he refused to treat her daughter whom she brought at closing time. The claim was rejected by the court.
