Fatal Trump Tower fire caused by electrical overload, FDNY says

The FDNY says power strips were the cause of the deadly fire on the 50th floor of Trump Tower earlier this month.

There was no smoke alarm in the apartment in which the fire ignited. When firefighters arrived, the apartment was "virtually entirely on fire", FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said.

Art collector Todd Brassner, 67, a friend of Andy Warhol, died from burns and smoke inhalation in the blaze.
