He was born May 12, 1928, in Rochester, Missouri, to Emel and Della (Howard) Schroeder.

A date set up by her grandparents proved fateful, as she fell in love with her husband, Robert "Bob", who worked for her grandpa.

Alvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, bee-keeping and mushroom hunting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Phyllis, brother Dean, and son William. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, in the Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. She is survived by her sons, Todd Wedding (Robin) and Lee Wedding, Jr.; daughter, Patricia Richmond (Robert); 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the RAM House.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 17, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 421 East Acre St., Norman, Okla., at 10 a.m.

The family would like to thank the staff of Abbeville Nursing home for the love and kindness shown to Mr. Martin. He was also a lifelong member of EL Bethel Baptist Church and served as a deacon. Private cremation entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home Crematory, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco.
