76ers legend, Hall of Famer Hal Greer dies at 81

Marshall athletics remembers the life of Hal Greer, who passed away on Saturday. That is a memory I will always cherish.

Hal Greer, a former Marshall University basketball player was also the first African American to play basketball at a state university in West Virginia. Ultimately, Greer earned over 20,000 points in his career and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982. "He will forever be remembered by Herd fans and will be enshrined forever with the boulevard that is named after him". Throughout his 15-year career with the Syracuse Nationals and Philadelphia 76ers, Greer solidified his place as one of the greatest basketball players ever.

Greer still holds the team record for points, field goals, games and minutes played.

We extend our deepest condolences and send our love to the Greer family during this hard time. He had been named an 10 consecutive days from 1961 to 1970 and won the game's MVP at 1968 after he scored 21 points on 8-of-8 shooting, for example 1 9 at 1 quarter.

Flesh-eating bacteria epidemic spreading in southern Australia
It is only when we are armed with this critical knowledge that we can hope to halt the devastating impact of this disease". The disease is believed to spread through mosquitoes, or through the faeces of possums that have been bitten by mosquitoes.

Greer was the first player to have his number retired by the 76ers when the team hung his No. 15 jersey from the rafters in 1976.

The team also said it will honor Greer in Monday's Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs against the Heat in Philadelphia.

After finishing first in the East in 1966, Greer, Chamerblain and the 76ers shocked the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals the following season before beating the San Francisco Warriors in six games to win the franchise's second National Basketball Association title and its first in Philadelphia.

Greer is survived by his wife Mayme, a son and two daughters.
