Seahawks Postpone Colin Kaepernick Workout

The Seahawks have signed quarterback Stephen Morris, Adam Schefter of reports.

Morris has also never thrown a pass in an National Football League regular season game, while Kaepernick nearly threw the game-winning one in a Super Bowl.

Kaepernick hasn't played a down in the National Football League since the 2016 season where he played for the San Francisco 49ers.

However, Morris' arrival most likely won't prevent the Seahawks from taking a look at Kaepernick or other quarterbacks in the very near future. He has bounced around with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins on practice squads and via futures contracts.

The 6-2, 218-pounder Morris most recently had signed with Washington on January 2 and then was waived on April 9. However, unexpectedly plans were changed due to the Seahawks "last-minute stipulation regarding Kaepernick's anthem stance".

But she gathered herself after the setback to defeat New Zealand's Tayla Ford 6-5 in a close bout to avoid going without a medal. Apart from the three gold medals, India claimed two Silver, both coming in boxing through Amit Phangal and Manish Kaushik.

It's also unlikely that the Seahawks will go into the season with Morris as Wilson's primary backup.

Carroll and Seattle GM John Schneider will be asked why they withdrew a workout offer to Kaepernick after he told the team he didn't plan on abandoning his support for social justice if he plays again. Kaepernick visited with the Seahawks a year ago, but they opted to sign Austin Davis instead.

Kaepernick's national anthem demonstration began during the 2016 season when he and former teammate Eric Reid began kneeling to protest police violence and racism against communities of color.

This news comes a day after the Seahawks postponed their Thursday visit with Colin Kaepernick that had been in place for about two weeks.
