Saba Qamar's 'Hindi Medium' opens big in China

After emerging as one of the most profitable films of 2017, Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium is now ready to break records at the Chinese Box Office as well. The forecast suggests Hindi Medium to do a business of over 300 million yuan during its run in China and if that proves to be true, the film will be beating top Bollywood global grossers including 3 Idiots, Padmaavat, Dangal, Dhoom 3 and Sultan. It collected approx Rs 40.81 crore ($6.28 million) on its second day, taking its 2-day total to a huge Rs 63.06 crore ($9.70 million).

In 2016, "Dangal" grossed so much that it overtook the only Indian film that was ahead of it - "Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion" exclusively because of the money it collected here! It raked in a whopping amount of 3.74 million at the Chinese box office.

Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series also said in a statement, "Hindi Medium is content-driven".

"Hindi Medium" marked the big screen debut of Pakistani actress Saba Qamar opposite Irrfan. And it is safe to say that Irrfan is already a mildly familiar actor in the Middle Kingdom, thanks to his notable appearances in worldwide films such as Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man and Life Of Pi to name a few.
