Moore, Davis prove to be dynamic duo for Pelicans against Grizzlies

In 72 games, Clark has averaged 7.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 19.4 minutes per game this season. The lead was even more tenuous because the Nuggets hold the tie-breaker after winning the season series against the Pelicans. New Orleans, Minnesota and Denver each have four games remaining. For the season he has averaged 28.1 points and 11.1 rebounds while making 53.5 percent of his shots. He left the game briefly late in the second quarter with a lower left leg issue as New Orleans took a 65-53 halftime lead.

According to The Advocate's Scott Kushner, New Orleans Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said guard Ian Clark will miss 5-to-10 days.

The lead expanded to 24 by the end of the third quarter, and Davis, Jrue Holiday and the rest of the Pelicans' starters took a seat by the midway point of the fourth.

"I was trying to get back to how I was playing, get the team back", Davis said.

The Grizzlies twice got within three points before Moore and Mirotic each made a 3-pointer to help New Orleans build a 44-34 lead.

As Mirotic and E'Twaun Moore buried an array of 3-pointers, it displayed what the Pelicans offense is capable of when open shooters connect from deep and the ball whips around the perimeter. "But we need him to get well and get that ankle right". We got off to a great start and the ball movement was good.

Newton was spotted walking around his vehicle looking for damage, and it's unclear how the collision happened or who was at fault. Newton is apparently fine after the collision and Atlanta PD says neither party wanted to fill out a police report.

Mirotic, who moved into the starting lineup in place of Emeka Okafor, scored seven points during the run, which left New Orleans with an 83-59 cushion.

X-rays on Clark's ankle were negative and Gentry said more will be known today after Clark undergoes an MRI. The guard walked out of the arena unaided with just a wrap on the injured ankle.

MarShon Brooks scored 25 points, Ivan Rabb had 16, Jarell Martin 15 and Ben McLemore 14 for the Grizzlies, who lost for the 31st time in their past 34 road games.

"I think when I started ramping back up a little bit", Jackson said Wednesday, shortly after he returned to New Orleans. "And the confidence they had in me made it easier to play better". They understood the importance of this game and how they needed to win. "They gave us their best shot".

After shooting guard Jordan Crawford played in only two games back in October for the New Orleans Pelicans before he was waived, it was reported on Twitter by ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday afternoon that the Pelicans have made a decision to sign him again for the rest of the 2017-18 season.

The Pelicans follow that with a game against the Golden State Warriors (57-21) on Saturday and another against the Los Angeles Clippers (42-36) on Monday.
