Tesla Extending Sell-Off After Moody's Cuts Credit Rating

The carmaker says it is still trying to retrieve the vehicle's logs.

Tesla has not responded to questions about Moody's downgrade, according to a CNBC report.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said Tuesday it was sending investigators to examine issues raised by the Tesla accident, in which the Model X struck a highway barrier on March 23 near Mountain View.

"Tesla battery packs are designed so that in the rare circumstance a fire occurs, it spreads slowly so that occupants have plenty of time to get out of the vehicle", Tesla says.

Tesla recently updated its onboard media computer, but the automaker also has a separate custom Autopilot computer to power its driver assist features and eventually, its self-driving capabilities.

Tesla had $3.4 billion in cash at the end of past year. Moments later, an approaching Mazda and Audi hit the 2017 Tesla. The pedestrian died from the collision. But Moody's predicted it would need $2 billion this year to cover operating costs as it scales up production of the Model 3.

Mr Michaeli believes Tesla has maintained its neutral/high risk rating on the stock market. The company has historically fallen short on these delivery numbers, especially for the Model 3. The electric vehicle producer reported ($3.04) earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, topping the Zacks' consensus estimate of ($3.12) by $0.08. Tesla produced only 2,425 Model 3s during the fourth quarter of 2017; it is now targeting a weekly production rate of 2,500 by the end of March, and 5,000 per week by the end of June.

After releasing the new computer, CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla is still attempting to reach full autonomy on the original hardware suite, but they might retrofit the computers (free of charge) if they can't.
