PSG midfielder Verratti: Referees allow Messi to get away with much more

However, Verratti believes that Messi would not have been punished if he'd reacted the same way.

The French giants were widely expected to challenge for the Champions League title this season after bringing both Neymar and wonderkid Kylian Mbappe on board, though defeat to holders Real Madrid dumped them out of the competition in the last 16 of the competition.

Verratti's second caution came as a result of dissent after running towards the match official but, while the PSG man accepts that he has to curb his attitude, he is unsure why others such as Messi get away with similar acts of petulance.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, about reaching an allege contract agreement with Barcelona Verratti said: "I've read that Raiola has offered me to Barcelona - it's false".

"Whereas Messi goes around pointing his finger in the referee's face and doesn't even get punished". "But anyway, I need to improve".

Rumours had suggested that Verratti could be linking up with Messi at Barcelona next season, but the 25-year-old insists he is going nowhere.

The Goldman Sachs Upgrades BHP Billiton (BLT) to "Neutral"
Michael Hintze increased its stake in Bhp Billiton Ltd (BHP) by 18.03% based on its latest 2017Q3 regulatory filing with the SEC. The firm owned 196,680 shares of the mining company's stock after acquiring an additional 2,340 shares during the period.

The 25-year-old has always been linked with a Camp Nou switch after establishing himself as one of Europe's top central midfielders, and recent reports state that the Italian's agent, Mino Raiola, has held discussions with the Catalonians.

'Some details make the difference.

"I've spoken with my management and they know what I think, and it is all clear. I have chose to stay at PSG".

"I hope my team-mates also think like this because one defeat (to Real) can not erase everything".

Verratti added: "We were convinced we could go through, but then certain incidents happen".
