Maharashtra: SSC history paper leaked an hour before exam

"Through some students, we learnt about an impending leak and chose to check the bags of the students coming to the centre", Albin Anthony, administrator, Sacred Heart School, told Mirror.

The school authorities conducted a surprise check of the students' phones and bags after receiving an alert from a student that a private coaching class had told around 100 students that it would receive the question paper an hour before commencement of the exam.

Following this, the school invigilators found that the paper had reached at least 12 students who went to different coaching classes in Kalyan and Ulhasnagar. "After we checked that, we found that it was the exact same paper" said Albin Anthony, administrator at the school.

As per media reports, the exam was scheduled at 9AM and photos of English paper-1 were circulated on social media after a teacher in Adilabad govt school photographed it in his mobile. This marks the first case of paper leak in the ongoing SSC Board exams, being attempted by 16,38,428 students across the state.

It was the first time since January 7, 1999 three different Irish players tallied at least 20 points in the same game. The Wildcats missed all five 3-pointers they took in the second half after hitting 10 of 15 in the first.

The incident came to light on Monday morning when the school authorities received information that some of the students had the question paper on their phones.

The FIR was registered at the Titwala police station. "Apart from sending the paper to students, in her messages, Khatwani also told them to forward the paper to some other students", Anthony said. "Later, students confessed the same and we have thus reported the said incident to the Kalyan Police" said Anthony. "Hence, we immediately chose to act". But he did not reply to calls later. "We received a complaint from the school and have asked them to file an FIR with the police", said Subhash Borse, secretary, Mumbai Division.

After the police finds out who is behind the leak, the inquiry committee will take further action against the students and persons involved in the leak. After a series of HSC paper leaks in the past three years, this year, the state board had sealed question papers in bundles of 25, which are opened in the exam hall itself in the presence of two students. The new formula, however, was not implemented for SSC exams, which means question papers are unsealed at the centre around half an hour before the exam begins.
