It has transpired that the cover was actually a kind of teaser for an Elton John tribute album.

Restoration will be released on 6 April alongside the sister album Revamp, featuring new covers by major names in pop, rock and R&B such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Mary J. The albums, which will be out on April 6, will celebrate John's decades of hits, which he produced with songwriter Bernie Taupin. "God, we have so many great artists doing our songs, it's quite incredible", Rolling Stone reported. John says of the album, "I wrote out a wish list of people that I would love and asked them".

The Killers have chosen Mona Lisas and Mad Matters, while Sam Smith will perform Daniel, Lady Gaga has recorded Your Song, Mumford and Sons do Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Alessia Cara picked Someone Saved My Life Tonight and Queens of the Stone Age have signed up for Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

"Restoration" will feature Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Brothers Osborne, Dierks Bentley, Rhonda Vincent and Lee Ann Womack.
