Tennessee Titans signing former Patriot Dion Lewis to pair with Derrick Henry

He was benched on defense, playing only one special-teams snap in the 41-33 loss to the Eagles despite them racking up 374 yards via the pass behind game MVP Nick Foles.

The contract has been reported as four years in length and will pay Lewis as a "top 10 running back". He would spend 2014 out of football before signing a futures contract with New England late in 2014. The pact has a maximum value of $23 million and includes $11.5 million in guarantees, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. He is considered one the best free agent corners on the market.

Butler's defection to Tennessee marks the second straight year that a Patriots cornerback will leave in free agency to join the Titans.

Lewis won't officially sign until the 2018 league year opens Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

The 28-year-old Butler is a Vicksburg, Mississippi, native who went undrafted out of West Alabama but spent the past four seasons with the Patriots. Amendola and Edelman played together for five years with the Patriots.

Lewis joins a backfield already featuring Derrick Henry, the 2015 Heisman Trophy victor from Alabama, who had bided his time behind Murray his first two seasons.
