Schwarzenegger To Sue Oil Companies, Compares Them To Murderers

Most recent of these are the lawsuits being filed against major oil companies, with Hollywood action star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger piling on with his first-degree murder charges.

In a similar vein, a landmark study published last year revealed the oil company Exxon knew about climate change nearly 40 years ago, when its own researchers uncovered the dirty truth about fossil fuels.

Schwarzenegger said that like the tobacco industry's paying hundreds of billions of dollars after being found responsible for lying about the health effects of smoking, the oil industry has lied about what it has known about the effects of fossil fuel pollution.

'This is no different from the smoking issue. "If you walk into a room and you know you're going to kill someone, it's first degree murder".

On the podcast, Schwarzenegger made a comparison between oil and tobacco, a product that kills 480,000 people per year in the USA, according to the CDC.

If Schwarzenegger has a cheaper, mass-produced fuel option that he considers safer than oil, perhaps he should let the world know. "I think it's the same thing with the oil companies", said Schwarzenegger.

Stillwater bail agent Chasity Dawn Carey fatally shoots client
Last August, Chasity Carey had called her client Brandon Williams to her office on the pretense of buying his auto for her son. Some have argued that Carey was "overcharged" and that a manslaughter charge might have been more appropriate.

The movie was a hit, grossing $216 million worldwide, and the two stars' decision to take 20% of the box office instead of their usual salaries earned them the biggest paydays of their careers up to that point.

Schwarzenegger advocated for every gas station, car, and product that has fossil fuels to feature a warning label and said he's speaking with multiple private law firms and preparing a public campaign as well.

"We're going to go after them, and we're going to be in there like an Alabama tick".

Then this January, New York City's mayor Bill de Blasio threatened Big Oil with more lawsuits, comparing the industry to the tobacco giants, saying they "systematically poisoned the Earth, knew about it, covered it up, explained it away, tried to hook people more and more on their product". The Terminator star's environmental campaigning has caused him to clash with U.S. President Donald Trump, who pulled out of the Paris climate accord looking to limit greenhouse gas emissions a year ago. He hopes that when people begin to realize the risky effects of burning fossil fuels they might even start looking at renewable alternatives.

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is accusing Big Oil of causing climate change.
