Along with Dhoni and Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya were also rested from the tri-nation T20I series, involving Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

MS Dhoni took to his Instagram account and shared an adorable video where he can be seen chilling with his wife Sakshi, daughter Ziva and pet dogs. He will once again be seen in the Chennai Super Kings team and sporting a yellow jersey. Dhoni has retained for whopping Rs 15 crore by the CSK in the IPL retention held on January 14.

The inaugural match of IPL 2018 will see Dhoni in action as CSK take on take on Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians, who are the defending champions, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Though the board official later cleared that the players who feature for the country in all the formats of the game have been included in the top pay grade this time around.

Bowling first, pacer Shardul Thakur returned with a career-best 4/27 to restrict Sri Lanka to 152/9. But an unbeaten 42 from Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik's 39 not out helped India win their second match in the tri-series.
