Wow! Jaya Bachchan Is Now India's Richest Member of Parliament

After a successful stint in Bollywood, Jaya Bachchan made a decision to join politics and in 2004, she was elected from Samajwadi Party as the Member of Parliament and she is now completing her third term as the MP, representing Rajya Sabha. This declaration of assets worth Rs 1000 crore can make Jaya Bachchan the richest Parliamentarian in India if she gets elected.

With all this, Jaya has raced ahead of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ravindra Kishore Sinha who declared assets worth Rs 800 crore in 2014 when he entered the upper House.

The affidavit showed that the couple owned gold and jewellery worth over Rs 62 crore.

The value of their movable assets too rose from around Rs 343 crore in 2012 to around Rs 540 crore. This is is Jaya's third term as a Samajwadi Party MP from the state of Uttar Pradesh. The actress-turned-politician had claimed assets worth Rs 500 crore in 2012 and now, the amount has doubled in 2018.

Amitabh and Jaya own watches worth around Rs 3.4 crore and Rs 51 lakh, respectively. It has been reported that the Bachchans also own 12 vehicles between them, worth over INR130 million. Amitabh possesses a pen worth over INR0.9 million.

The couple own a 3,175 square metre residential property in Brignogan Plages in France other than plush properties in Bhopal (MP), Noida (UP), Delhi, Pune and Mumbai (Maharashtra), and in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad cities of Gujarat. Jaya owns a 1.22 hectare agricultural plot worth INR 22 million in Lucknow's Kakori area.
