Splinter Cell 2018 Spotted on Amazon

Splinter Cell 2018 Spotted on Amazon

A listing on Amazon Canada's Ubisoft page for "Splinter Cell 2018" was briefly live today, suggesting that the stealth franchise will make a return this year.

Amazon Canada has listed a game simply titled Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 2018, along with the name of the publisher Ubisoft, and a "Currently unavailable" status. Release date, product description, and even platforms are all left blank for now, and there's no placeholder image yet. The latest release in the series was 2013's Blacklist.

At the time of filing this story, this listing has been taken down, and it could very well have been a mistake on Amazon's part. But we also can not rule out the possibility of its release sometime soon because e-commerce sites are known to tease games way ahead of its official launch date. Previously too e-commerce websites have leaked games way ahead of publishers. If there was no game in development, and Guillemot didn't want to get Splinter Cell fans' hopes up, he could have easily brushed the question off by saying that they didn't have anything to reveal at the moment.

Jake Arrieta, Philadelphia Phillies reach three-year deal
Arrieta had a 4.67 ERA in first 16 starts last season, but finished strong, going 7-4 with a 2.26 ERA in his final 14 outings. If their young starters can take step forward this season, the Phillies could make waves in the wild card standings.

It sounds like dodgy PR speak, perhaps, but I think we can probably take this to mean that a new Splinter Cell game was, and is, in the works. The new revelation expects us to believe that a new Splinter Cell game may be announced soon.

To recall, there have been previous reports that a new Splinter game is in the making. Hopefully Sam Fisher is still the main character and Ubisoft is able to bring back Michael Ironside as the voice actor.

"What we can say is we're receiving a lot of sketches and proposals around the brand and we're going to pick one up", he said at last year's E3. Though we suppose the name of the game would be different from just Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 2018.
