Muhammad Wilkerson, Packers Agree to Contract After 7 Seasons with Jets

Wilkerson visited the Packers two days later, but he also made visits to the Saints, Chiefs and Redskins before choosing the Packers.

With Wilkerson now in the fold, the Packers have a formidable defensive line that also includes Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark. Green Bay is hoping he can turn that around while still being an asset in the run game, in which he was the 23rd best.

I'll wait to see how Wilkerson's contract comes out financially before giving the Packers an "A" grade on this signing. Mike Pettine, the Packers' new defensive coordinator, was Wilkerson's defensive coordinator with NY when he was drafted in the first round in 2011.

Wilkerson, who was released by the New York Jets earlier this month, will be reunited with new Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine. The team was able to free up cap space after releasing wideout Jordy Nelson, but they hardly needed any of it as Wilkerson's deal was only for one year five million and three million in incentives. He took a one-year deal and will have a chance to prove he's the player he was. After one of their rumored targets, Trumaine Johnson was signed by the New York Jets, it was assumed they were going to stand pat for the night.

Pa. House race still too close to call
Saccone said late Tuesday night that there are also provisional and military absentee ballots that still need to be counted. It is somewhat surprising, then, that the Saccone-Lamb showdown seems not to have made much of an impression in MAGA-land.

Of the 85 players with at least 300 pass-rush snaps in 2017, per NFL Research, Wilkerson ranked No. 69 with a pressure rate of just 5.4 percent.

Wilkerson, 28, dealt with ankle and shoulder injuries while managing just eight sacks over the last two reasons. The bigger positions of need are at cornerback and outside linebacker.

The 2011 first-round pick made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2015 after registering 64 tackles and a career-high 12 sacks.
