Former Penn State linebacker Paul Posluszny retires after 11 National Football League seasons

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny formally announced on Tuesday morning that he would be retiring from the National Football League following an 11-year career.

The 33-year-old Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker announced his retirement Tuesday morning after realizing he "can no longer compete at a level that I find acceptable".

Posluszny is coming off a 2017-18 season in which he appeared in all 16 regular-season games, collecting just 60 total tackles, his lowest single-season total since his rookie year back in 2007-08.

One of the greatest linebackers in Penn State history, Posluszny published a lengthy retirement message on the Jaguars' website.

Following the transaction, the director now directly owns 21,674 shares in the company, valued at approximately $1,549,691. The stock price exposed a move of -42.18% so far this year and uncovered flow of -70.34% in recent year. (NYSE:FBHS).

He played in 40 games from 2003 to 2006, winning a Big Ten championship as a junior in 2005.

"I thank God every day for all that He has give me: my family, my friends, my teammates and for making me an American", Posluszny wrote to end his letter. He spent the first four years of his National Football League career in Buffalo and the last seven in Jacksonville. He is Jacksonville's second all-time leading tackler with 815 and holds the franchise record for interceptions by a linebacker with 11.

"I cherished every moment of my National Football League career, and it has been such a blessing to play the game for as long as I have played", Posluszny wrote.

The Western Pennsylvania native played the first four seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills and spent the last seven years in Jacksonville.

Posluszny was star linebacker and two-time All-American at Penn State before joining the National Football League in 2007, when he was drafted in the second round by the Bills.
