Cameron Diaz Not Retiring, Selma Blair Clarifies Statement On Twitter

Selma Blair has clarified her comments after being quoted as stating that her friend and former co-star Cameron Diaz has retired from showbusiness.

In an interview, the actress said her friend Diaz was quitting the profession, triggering a flood of news stories.

DON'T expect to see Cameron Diaz on the silver screen any time soon - or possibly even anymore.

Blair revealed, "I would have liked to do a sequel [to The Sweetest Thing], but Cameron's retired from acting". The pair played Jane Burns and Christina Walters in The Sweetest Thing, which opened in theaters in 2002.

We don't ignore the goals we conceded, but if you ignore them for a second you would say: 'OK, that's how you have to play'. Very interesting - Mourinho actually downplayed his use of the United academy star in his press conference.

"I mean, she doesn't need to make any more films". The actress also joked about retiring from being Cameron Diaz's spokesperson because of the misinformation her statement has caused.

Earlier this week, Selma was responsible for several headlines announcing Cameron's retirement, following an interview in which she appeared to claim that the actress had turned her back on the acting world. An insider said recently: "Cameron is constantly inundated with film scripts trying to tempt her out of retirement but she's just not interested".

The insider explained: 'She would love more than anything to be a mom. Her remarks sparked online chatter about the end of Diaz's acting career and the realisation her last film credit was 2014's Annie, but now Blair is clarifying her comments on Twitter. According to US Weekly, "At this point, they would be very happy with the miracle of one child". Speaking with Metro, Blair - now being seen in the gleefully bonkers Mom And Dad - admitted that she had been keen to work with Diaz again, but that won't be happening. They aren't really thinking past the first one at this point.
