Temple Men's Basketball Heads to Penn State to Open the NIT

Congratulations to winners Notre Dame and Ohio State, who will play for the B1G championship this Saturday, March 17 - St. Patrick's Day - in the Compton Family Ice Arena.

After not making the NCAA Tournament, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish earned a No. 1 seed in the NIT. "I have to believe the committee was exhausted of looking at our stuff". With only two seniors - Shep Garner and Julian Moore - leaving the team at the end of the season, an impressive tournament run could be just what the Penn State Men's Basketball program needs to reassert itself into future NCAA tournament contention. While it prepares for the Bulldogs, UCLA and Arizona State are headed for the NCAA Tournament despite finishing below the Trojans in the Pac-12 standings.

A committee awards the rest of the at-large bids. "Throughout the season we've had a lot of punches thrown at us, so this is another punch we will deal with as a group".

"We need to get a win", Cooper told GoPSUsports. First up is a matchup against on against No. 8-seed Hampton on Tuesday at 9 p.m. "We look forward to tipping things off on Tuesday". Should the Irish beat the Pirates (19-15, 12-4 MEAC), they will take on the victor of No. 4-seed Penn State and No. 5-seed Temple, though the time of the second-round game is not yet decided.

Besides the Credit Saison partnership, Grab also announced it is working with Chubb to offer insurance products for its drivers. GrabReward - Grab's rewards and loyalty services.

Notre Dame (20-14) had one of the most intriguing bubble cases after preseason All-American Bonzie Colson missed 15 games with a broken left foot.

Brey said he told the team about past experiences from the NIT.

"If we want to be a really good team, then we've got to do what good teams do", Cooper told GoPSUSports. "He's got to rehab, he's got to get back as quick as he can". Lost in the semis but made the most of the NIT. The Irish boast a 26-10 lifetime record in the event (what was the original precursor to the NCAA Championship tournament) and advanced to the title game in 1973, 1984, 1992 and 2000. The Nittany Lions absolutely played their brand of hockey in that first period, forcing the Irish to go end-to-end, locking the game 2-2, outshooting Notre Dame 18-16 in the first 20 minutes.
