Nebraska to play Mississippi State in the NIT tournament

The last time that Baylor was in the NIT was 2013.

Nebraska heads into the NCAA Tournament with a 21-10 record after earning the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament with an 11-5 conference mark. That also happened in 2016, although Northern Iowa and Wichita State both made the NCAA that year. The Broncos and Huskies met in a closed-door preseason scrimmage, with the Broncos reportedly winning the session. "We've had some pretty good success with a three seed (national runner-up) and a five seed (national runner-up) in the past", Walz said.

As of a week ago, the Huskies were trying to sneak into the NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska's game against the Sun Devils (21-12, 10-8 Pac-12) will be the eighth all-time meeting between the Huskers and Arizona State.

Williams, talking to media 90 minutes after the big reveal, said she didn't know much about Arizona State. Ultimately, it wasn't enough to be make the field of 68. "We just gotta go back to the lab and practice and get better and get ready for that". This will be the first meeting between OR and Rider.

Quinndary Weatherspoon is averaging a team-best 14.8 points per game. But there were some scary moments as teams that won their regular-season conference titles were upset in their conference tournaments and given automatic NIT bids.

The Huskers will travel to Mississippi State to take on the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (22-11, 9-9 SEC).

While the United States military says the strategy has hit the Taliban hard, they still control or contest much of the country. These and other moves boosted the number of USA troops in Afghanistan by at least 3,500 to a total of more than 14,000.

Nebraska is the first Big Ten team with at least 20 overall wins and fewer than seven conference losses to ever miss out on the tournament.

There's the annual showdown with Creighton (at home), as well as the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City (Nov. 19-20) with Texas Tech, USC, and Missouri State also in the field. They are a No. 4 seed and will host an opening round contest. That pushed their record to 17-6.

UW broke its streak by beating Colorado but would fall to Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif.

While NU's late-season schedule allowed the Huskers to pile up wins, it afforded no opportunities for signature victories.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m and will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

Vermont (27-7) at Middle Tennessee (24-7), 5 p.m. The other two pairings in this section of the bracket include Hampton at Notre Dame and Temple at Penn State.
