Ben Affleck & Matt Damon To Add Inclusion Rider In Their Future Projects

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are pledging to do their part to boost diversity in the entertainment industry.

The move follows Frances McDormand's call at the Oscars for actors to demand more inclusivity in front of and behind the camera.

Producer and performer Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni made the announcement Monday night via Twitter at the South by Southwest Film Festival.

"It's great to see Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and the Pearl Street Films team using their influence to create opportunities for people from underrepresented groups to enter the industry". She concluded her speech saying, "Look around, ladies and gentlemen, because we all have stories to tell and projects we need financed". "Don't talk to us about it at the parties... invite us into your office in a couple of days or you can come to ours, whichever suits you best, and we'll tell you all about them", she announced. The inclusion clause aims to promote diversity in casting and crew memberships.

French Connection rallies as full-year loss narrows
French Connection has for some time been closing stores in an attempt to stave off broader market pressures. An 8.6pc surge in wholesale revenues helped boost overall group sales, up 0.5pc to £154m.

Jordan, Affleck, and Damon have adopted inclusion riders following Frances McDormand's best actress acceptance speech at the Oscars on March 4, where the Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri star closed her remarks by mentioning the term. She's also on the board of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, the think tank housed at the University of Southern California that was, conveniently, founded by Dr. Stacy L. Smith, the co-originator of the official inclusion rider.

Praising the Black Panther star, Fanshen wrote, "Thank you for always supporting broader representation in the industry".

Actor Michael B Jordan had also announced last week that he would add an inclusion rider on all projects produced under his Outlier Society Productions banner.

Other stars to speak out in support of inclusion riders include Captain Marvel star Brie Larson.
