Babysitter Accused of Abusing Toddler Who Was Left Brain Dead

She said Hannah's babysitter, Lindsay Partin, shook her and abused her Thursday.

"I don't understand why or how anyone harms a child", Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said on Monday.

Lindsay Partin, 35, was charged with felony assault and child endangerment and has been released on $30,000 cash bond. No motive for the alleged attack was given.

"She is not expected to survive", her father, Jason Wesche, said Monday.

I can't begin to explain the feeling of losing a child at the hands of this. of just a violent act." he said "We just want to stress that this situation is devastating. "She is not expected to survive".

"It's very hard for us to go up there and look at her", Bayne said.

Though the Wesche's condition is uncertain, Latham said the family will continue to encourage her to keep fighting.

Wesche urged the judge to hold Partin without bail. She also admitted to shaking the child.

The devoted single father called the little girl his "sweet baby", with an earlier GoFundMe page revealing Hannah spent six months in intensive care as a newborn after being born addicted to drugs because of her mom's habit.

"Who's passed out?" the dispatcher asked.

"This little girl is hanging on by a thread", the sheriff said. Jones said she admitted to "striking" the girl.

"Are you with her now?". "She fell pretty bad yesterday. She does not deserve to be where she's at right now". He was at Partin's court hearing Monday.

Partin was booked her into the Butler County Jail on Friday.

Upon a closer look, doctors allegedly found injuries on other parts of the girl's body.

The family of Hannah Wesche told WLWT they are in a state of shock.

'In order to do something like this to an innocent, fragile child, you would have to be a monster'. Cases like this rip your heart out. Get background checks, talk to neighbors, friends, and family members before letting anyone watch your children.

The victim's eldest sister, Kaitlyn Wesche, has been posting messages on Facebook asking for prayers. 'Pray that she isn't in pain and is at ease.' . Partin enters not guilty plea.
